I had the pleasure of photographing Susie and Justin’s wedding on a beautiful day in October, there was a minor threat of rain but it turned out perfect in the end. I met with Susie and the girls at her parents house as they were completing their hair and makeup. The makeup artist was using an Ipad in place of a mirror for Susie to see the work as it progressed, I thought this was very cool and very “Back to the Future 2’ish”. The whole gang sat down to a quick meal before getting suited up for the big day (to which I was invited and ashamedly put down the camera for a moment for some of Susie’s Mom’s fantastic lasagna). Brad Smith, my second photographer hung with Justin and the groomsmen at the Simsbury Inn, and did not get lasagna. Instead he got some awesome portraits of Justin and the guys out front of the Reception venue. The Ceremony was held at St Thomas the Apostle Church in West Hartford, one of those amazing churches with perfectly reflectable stone floors and epicly high ceilings, that make truly amazing photographs. After a brief formal session in a vine laden garden everyone returned to the Simsbury Inn to party the night away. Thanks again Susie and Justin, Brad and myself had a great time!
